Hon'ble Mr. Justice (Retd.) Arjan Kumar Sikri is an eminent jurist and a former judge of the Supreme Court of India. He was sworn in as a Supreme Court judge on 12 April 2013 and he retired as senior-most puisne judge of the Supreme Court of India on 6 March 2019. Earlier, he had served as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. In his judicial career, he has authored over 4700 reported judgments in different fields of law. He was named one of the 50 most influential persons in the world who impacted the growth of Intellectual Property Laws for the year 2007 by MIPA.
Currently, He is an International Judge of the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC); Chairman of the National Court Managements Systems Committee (NCMS); Chairman of the National Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA), and Ombudsman of Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS). Chairperson, Committee for Formulating an Action Plan for Online Dispute Resolution under NITI Aayog, Government of India. Chairperson, Interim Advisory Council, Delhi School of Public Policy and Governance (DSP&G), University of Delhi.
He is also the visiting Professor at various Law Universities.
He was chosen as one of the 50 most influential persons in Intellectual Property in the world in the survey conducted by the Managing Intellectual Property Association (MIPA) for the year 2007. He had an excellent academic record. He did his B.Com (H) from Shriram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and LL.B from Law Faculty, Delhi University. He was awarded Gold Medal for attaining first position in LL.B and also did his LL.M from Delhi University and got first position. He was a member of the Academic Council of Delhi University and various committees of Delhi University.
